The family of a little girl whose life was saved by staff at the Neonatal Unit at Royal Preston Hospital have raised more than £600 for Baby Beat from donations received for her first birthday.
Mae McGowan-Etheridge was seriously ill when she was born on October 8 last year and Mum Lauren asked friends and family for donations instead of presents for Mae’s first birthday to say thank you to the Neo Natal Unit team.
Lauren said: “Without the Preston Neonatal Unit we might not have our beautiful baby girl. We owe them more than we can put into words, as Mae was born without her heart and lungs functioning.
“One year on and she is the happiest, healthiest little girl and we couldn’t be more blessed to have her in our lives. I’m just happy to give a little back to a team that have truly given me the world. We hope this money can help them continue the amazing work they do day in and day out. We will be forever grateful for everything they have done for us.”
Baby Beat thanks Mae’s family and friends for their amazing and very generous gesture and we hope little Mae had a very happy birthday!
