Baby Beat
We support babies, mums and mums-to-be cared for by the maternity, neonatal and gynaecology teams at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
We fund specialist equipment, patient services and comforts, clinical care, local research and training so that our maternity and gynaecology teams can offer the best possible outcomes for babies and mums in the Central Lancashire and Chorley area. With the charity’s support, our neonatal unit continues to provide exceptional care for premature and sick babies and their families from across Lancashire and South Cumbria.
What We Fund
Thanks to our incredible supporters we’ve been able to fund many charitable projects that have helped to provide the very best care, treatment and facilities to mums and their babies at our hospitals. Take a look at some of our recently funded projects to see the difference this has made.

Thank you so much to our fab Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust colleague diagnostic radiographer Sara Lycett, and her wonderful radiography students, who rallied together to organise a bake sale and raffle which raised a fantastic £205.69 for us a couple of weeks ago to mark World Radiography Day!
As radiographers, they are often called to carry out X-Rays in our neonatal department so they see first-hand the difference that Baby Beat funded projects can make for the babies and mothers cared for here at the Trust, and helping a charity in their place of work was something all participating felt extremely passionate about. Thank you so much to all involved for thinking of us! 🥰 ... See MoreSee Less

We'd like to give a huge thank you to all the lovely pupils of Hazel Class at St Clare’s Catholic Primary School, Fulwood for raising a wonderful £470 for us! 🥰👏
The class took part in a community fundraising project which saw them undertaking a series of challenges including a penalty shoot-out, a sponsored silence, track running and basketball to raise their total. Our Fundraisers Lucy and Ciera also presented at an assembly for the class, telling them all about the work that Baby Beat does to raise funds to help the babies cared for at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, so the pupils knew exactly how the funds they raised would make a difference.
Well done to all of you in raising such a great amount through your challenge, and thank you for choosing to support Baby Beat! 🤗🧡 ... See MoreSee Less

Thank you so much to regular Baby Beat supporter Patrick Kiernan, who undertook a day of physical exertion to raise funds for us! 🤗
Back in September, Patrick (who regularly supports us through his business, Rowan Scrap Metals Ltd) challenged himself to take on six physically demanding circuit-based fitness sessions in one day at his gym, @bodyconfidencehq – and added seven ascents and descents of Parlick Fell (a steep 432m hill in the lower Bowland Fells) on the same day too! His grit and determination earned him an impressive £1,387.50 for us in sponsorship. 💪👏
Is addition to this total, our Fundraising Manager Joanna recently visited Patrick and colleague Dean at their workplace in Grimsargh, where the pair ask for charity donations when their customers use the weigh bridge. They were delighted to hand over a wonderful £526 from their charity collection tubs – bringing their total raised over the last few years to a fantastic £4,118.86!
Thank you - these funds will help make a real difference for the babies and mums cared for here at @lancshospitals 🧡🙏
